New Beneficiaries Announced for 2024-25
The State Monitoring Committee of Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana has declared that during the financial year 2024-25, an additional 50,000 beneficiaries will receive financial assistance under this scheme. Additionally, 9,901 applicants who were not selected in the previous financial year will be reconsidered, provided they meet the eligibility criteria. To ensure the scheme meets its target, a 20% waiting list will also be maintained.
Previous Year’s Selection Process
In the 2023-24 financial year, 40,099 applicants were chosen through a computerized selection process held on February 23, 2024. However, 19,901 applications were later disqualified due to incomplete documentation, highlighting the importance of accurate and complete submissions.
Financial Assistance Breakdown
Each selected beneficiary under this scheme receives financial support totaling Rs 2 lakh in three installments:
- First installment: Rs 50,000
- Second installment: Rs 1 lakh
- Third installment: Rs 50,000
To date, Rs 200.49 crore has already been disbursed for the first installment. Furthermore, selected candidates undergo a three-day training program at Upendra Maharathi Shilp Anusandhan Sansthan in Patna. From the previous batch, training for 33,350 candidates has already been completed.

Eligibility Criteria for Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana 2025
Beneficiaries must fulfill all the following requirements to apply for the scheme.
- Must be a permanent resident of Bihar.
- Monthly family income should not exceed Rs 6,000.
- Priority will be given to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Extremely Backward Classes (EBC), women, youth, and minority communities.
- No member of the beneficiary’s family should be employed in a government job or government post.
